The catalogue, figure by figure.

Every number on this site comes from a query against the database, on a date written beside it. A number without its date reads as today's number — that is the rule CardoMint applies to its prices, and it holds for its own page.

Three markets, three catalogues

These are not three translations of one game: they are other extensions, with other cards.

The proof that these are three catalogues: of the 177 sets the source announces in Japanese, 173 identifiers exist only there — and the 4 shared ones designate different cards. A language filter would have mixed them; one zone per market keeps them apart.

How those declarations were built

Three sources, never one

A retailer's product sheets, the community encyclopedia — and the back of the box itself, read by text recognition when the first two contradict each other.

The sum is the check

Thirty-eight pages announce a total their own list does not add up to. None was copied across: an incomplete list and a doubled list look alike, and only the sum tells them apart.

What stays silent, stays silent

Twenty-seven totals contradict each other between sources and are not arbitrated. Settling between two diverging sources takes a third — without it, nothing is decided.

The scope, and what will widen it

A gap that is named is a scope; a gap kept quiet reads as a defect.

59 433 cards without a price

Cardmarket does not publish one for all of them — 7 815 carry one. The others show nothing rather than a zero that would read as a value of nothing.

90 cards without a photo

The Trick or Trade cards carry a pumpkin stamp that no published scan shows. Lending them the original printing's image would show a different card.

Card scanning

The place is reserved at the centre of the bottom bar, and the button announces « Coming » in a visible message — not in a tooltip, which never shows on touch.

Cardmarket listings

Filtering by language, condition or seller country is marked unavailable rather than « coming »: the source publishes an average price per card and never the listings. It is not a queue, it is an impossibility.

Alerts, today

An alert is seen by opening the page. Email exists for password resets, not yet for warning that a threshold has been crossed.

The rest of the catalogue

The census still counts 1,154 products present at a retailer and absent from here, section by section, with the reason for each.

Where the data comes from

The card catalogue

An open MIT-licensed database supplies names, numbers, rarities, illustrators, photos and prices. The photos are linked, not copied: their CDN is built for it.

The missing scans

40 642 images are hosted by CardoMint where the source has no French scan — fetched one by one, and verified.

The prices

One Cardmarket reading a day, dated by the source and not by our clock: two openings two hours apart do not invent two points.

What the boxes contain

Harvested from public product sheets, with a sum check at write time — and a refusal to write the moment a line raises a question.

No source is circumvented: a site that answers 403 to an automated client, or forbids it in its robots.txt, is not read. Watermarked images are declined. These are answers, not obstacles.
